5.5 acres, Near Catterick, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire
For Sale - Fixed Price £95,000

Kiplea Copse is an attractive mature mixed woodland, mainly native broadleaved trees such as oak, beech, birch, sycamore, ash and wych elm, with a sprinkling of conifers mixed in, particularly towards the eastern boundary.

In the northern part of the wood, there’s quite a lot of coppiced hazel and wych elm beneath the tall canopy and a rich ground flora of dog’s mercury, arum lilies, primroses and native ferns. A few old fallen trees make great deadwood habitat for woodland wildlife, the leathery bark of birch trunks outlasting the timber. Wildlife habitat is further enhanced with a few of the large trees having a covering of ivy.

Towards the south-eastern corner, a bench is located on the level, just before the land drops away slightly, close to some oak and beech trees. Ash, in this area of the wood could yield a fantastic home firewood supply or material for crafts. A small area in the south-western corner has recently been cut back where and electrical line crosses the wood boundary and there’s already logs ready to stack to season.

Along the southern and eastern boundaries are old hedge shrubs such as elder, blackthorn, hawthorn and willow with farm fields beyond and pleasant views out.
