Na Coille lies on the northeast shores of Loch Broom, two miles southeast of Ullapool. As well as being the main ferry port for the Outer Isles, Ullapool is also a charming fishing harbour and cultural centre for traditional music with plenty of local facilities including hotels, schools, a marina and a supermarket. Inverness is about an hour’s drive to the southeast (via one of Scotland’s most beautiful roads). The wider area boasts some impressive mountain scenery, wild coastlines and the famed Corrieshalloch Gorge.

The wood occupies sloping ground between the A835 and the loch shore. It is designated as native upland birchwood, but you will also find other native broadleaves here including oak, ash, hazel and willow. There are also a few scattered conifers including some wonderfully gnarled veteran Scots pine.

There is no vehicular access into the wood but there is ample parking in two laybys nearby. Due to thick rhododendron undergrowth pedestrian access into much of the wood is not easy, but there is a small path connecting the public road to the shore starting at our 'Woods4Sale' sign.

The woodland canopy was alive with songsters during our visit and we also saw two otters swimming in the loch. Patient watching will be well rewarded.

Opportunities to purchase a coastal woodland property like this are few and far between. Na Coille is sure to generate plenty of interest.
