Glenshamrock is situated in a secluded and private location in scenic rural Ayrshire within easy reach of Glasgow and the central belt but within a short distance of the local settlement of Auchinleck. The small town has a good range of local facilities which include supermarket, hotel, butchers and bakers. There is a railway station with connections to Glasgow, Kilmarnock and Ayr. There are currently two primary schools and a secondary school in the town and the new Barony Campus is due to open later within the next year providing nursery, primary, secondary and supported learning education. From Ayr, take the A70 towards Cumnock. Proceed to Auchinleck and go under the bypass and turn left onto Darnlaw View, then turn right onto Mauchline Road. Continue to the roundabout and turn left onto the B705 (Market Road) and continue out of the village. Glenshamrock is on the right hand side after about 1 mile.
